Onion Bajji

 

 Ingredients:

 kadalai maavu - 2 cups

 Rice flour - 1/2 cup

 Onion (big) - 2 nos (medium size)

 Red chilly powder -  1tbs                                             

Jeera - 1 tsp

 Asafoetida - 1 pinch

 Curry leaves - a handfull
                                                                                                    
 Oil - as needed

 Orange food colour - as you need

 Salt to taste

Method:


Mix kadalai maavu, rice flour, asafoetida, red chilly powder, food colour and salt 

with water make like dosa batter.

Grind jeera and curry leaves of a nice paste and 

add it with the batter.
   
In a non stick pan heat 2 tbs oil and pour it in the batter and mix well. 

(Don't skip this step, because this made the bajji more crispy)

In that pan heat the remaining oil.  

Cut onion at your desirable shape and dip it in the batter and 

put in the boiling oil at medium heat. 

Once the bajji cooked well and crispy and 

turn it to the other side to cook.

Both sides come crispy serve hot with tomato sauce or chutney...
