Green Mango Rice


Rice (Cooked) - 1 cup

Mango(Shreded) - 1 cup

Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

Urad dal - 1 tsp

Channa dal - 2 tbs

Green chillies - 2 nos

Dry chillies - 2 nos

Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Gingelly oil - 2 tbs

Curry leaves - a handfull

Fried cashews - 2 tbs (optional)

Fried peanuts - 2 tbs (optional)

Salt to taste


The full version of the mango rice  must be do  at medium flame.

The cooked rice must not be mushy. 

It should be in normal temperature  and spread in a big plate.  

Pour one tbs oil in rice and mix well.

Peel the skin and shred the mango. 

In a pan put the remaining oil, add mustard seeds , urad dal  

channa dal, green chillies,dry chillies and curry leaves. 

Saute for a minute and add the shreded mango, salt and turmeric powder. 

cook  well until the raw smell of the mango goes completely. 

After that, mix the mango mixture and the fried nuts with rice and 

serve after one or two hours.

Because the rice'll take some more time to  set for the  sour, salt and the hot taste.
