Adai


 

                   

Ingredients:



    Raw rice -1/2 cup

    Idly rice - 1/2 cup

    Channa dal - 1/2 cup

    Toor dal- 1/4 cup

    Urad dal- 1/4 cup

    Sombu - 1/4 tsp

    Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp

    Red chillies-  5

    Onion - 15 chopped

    Curry leaves - a few chopped finely

    Coconut- 2 tbs (pieces)

    Asafoetida - a pinch

    Salt - to taste                                         


Method :


Wash and soak the rice and dals for  3 hours.

Grind it along with  asafoetida,  sombu , cumin seeds ,  red chillies and 

salt into a coarse paste by adding little water.

The batter should  thicker than the dosa batter.

Add the chopped  onion , coconut pieces and curry leaves  mix it well.

Heat a non stick pan ,  pour a ladleful of the batter and spread it thick.

Drizzle some oil on the sides and flip over when it is golden brown.

Serve hot with coconut chutney  or tomato chutney or coriander leaves chutney.
