Pacha Mochai Kulambu


 

Note: (It is a season vegetable. We'll get this around pongal time. But we get  sun dried mochai at any time at departmental stores. Soak in water for 4 or   5 hours and use it.) 


Ingredients:



  Pachai mochai  - 1 cup

  Small Onion - 10 nos

  Tomato -  2 nos

  Chilly powder - 1 tsp

  Coriander powder - 2 tsp

  Jeera - 1 tsp

  Coconut -  2 tbd (shreded)

  Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

  Curry leaves a handfull

  Oil as you need



Method:




 Grind Coconut, jeera, chilli powder and coriander powder to a coarse paste.

 M
ake a very smooth paste of onions and tomato.

 Wash mochai and cook in pressure cooker for 2 whistles 

 with little salt and a pinch of turmeric powder.

 In a pan  add the mochai then the masala paste and 

 sufficient water salt and put it on the stove. 

Cook at medium flame. When the nice aroma comes out season it. 

Serve with hot rice or chappathi..
