Paasi Paruppu Paayasam

Paasi Paruppu Paayasam 




Ingredients :

 

Mung dal ( Paasi paruppu  ) - 1/2 cup


Jaggery  -  1/2 cup


Ghee -  1/4 cup


Cashew nuts - 15 nos


Raisins - 15 nos


Cardamom  -  5 or 6 nos ( powdered ) 


Coconut milk - 1 cup



Method : 



First roast cashews and raisins in ghee, keep a side. 


Then roast the paasi paruppu with a spoon of ghee 


till it turns into light red in colour.  


Nice aroma will comes out. Add sufficient water to cook the paruppu. 


Add a little water to jaggery ,   


allow it to melt and filter the jaggery from the dust. 


After the paasi paruppu cooked don't mash it nicely. 


Use the spatula to smash and add the jaggery  water ,  


coconut  milk and the roasted cashews and  raisins.


Finally add the  cardamom powder. Now payasam is ready to serve...
