Ingredients:
Small onion - 10 nos (peeled)
Big onion - 1 no (medium size , chopped)
Tomato - 2 nos (medium size, 1 to grind 1 to chopped)
Coconut - 1 tbs (shreded)
Pottukadalai - 1 tbs
Cinnamon - 1 no
Clove - 2 nos
Sombu - 1 tsp
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Salt - to need
Oil - as you need
Curry leaves - a handfull
Coriander leaves - a handfull
Method:
In a pan heat a tsp of oil and saute
small onion and one tomato
Grind coconut , pottu kadalai , cinnamon ,
clove as a nice paste
Finally add chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder
and salt to the paste and give a stir
In a pan heat oil add mustard seed and allow it to
splutter and add the chopped onion , tomato
Toss well and add the ground paste and adjust water
Cook till the sambar comes to thick consistency.
Garnish with curry and coriander leaves.
This is more or less like a kuruma! ;) Love to have it with idli/ dosa! :P :P
