Mixed Vegetable Gravy

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
    

Mixed Vegetable Gravy




 Ingredients:


Carrot _ 2 nos 


Beetroot - 1 no


Beans - 100 gms


Onion - 1 no


Tomatoes -2 nos


Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp


Red chilly powder - 1 tbs 


Coriander powder -0 1 tbs


Turmeric powder - 1 tsp


Curry leaves - a few


Salt - to taste


Oil - as you need




Method :


                                                       Wash and chop the vegetables







                                                             Chop the onion and tomatoes





                                                                  In a pan put oil





                                                              add ginger garlic paste




                                                                     Add curry leaves



                                                        then add  chopped onion and 


                                                                     chopped tomato








saute well



in a bowl   mix  turmeric  powder, coriander powder 

 

red chilly powder and salt  with water


                                                   add the powder mixture in the gravy



                                            add the vegetables and adequate water to cook



when the oilo seperates from the gravy


garnish with coriander leaves

                                             
Serve with hot rice , chappathi  , idli , dosai ...

Vegetable Lollipops


 

I  Want to dedicate this week end special recipe to my FRIENDS

Ingredients:


                                                                   
Carrot - 2 nos Medium size

Beans - 100 gms (chopped

Capsicum - 1 (chopped)

Garlic 1 tsp chopped

Green chillies -  2 (chopped)

Carrot sticks   -  8 Nos 


Soya sauce -  1 tsp

Chilly sauce - 1 tbsp

Bread crumbs  - 1/2 cup


Egg white  - 1 No

Pepper powder - 1 tsp


Oil for frying

Salt to taste



Method: 



                               Finely Chopped the vegetables. 


           Chop the carrot sticks as shown in the picture or as you wish.





          Boil the potatos. Peeled and mashed the potatos and keep aside.

                              In a pan heat  oil , saute the garlic, onion. 







              add the carrots, beans, capsicums, green chillies, salt, 

                        pepper, soya sauce,  and chilli sauce



                           



                               Cook it till the vegetables come soft. 

                               









                              After the vegetable mixture comes cool



                add the mashed potatos and mix well like chappathi dough.




                         Make  the dough into small 10  lollipops shapes.


  
      

                    insert the carrot sticks  and  dip the lollipops in the 

                               egg  white and dust in the bread crumb. 






          In a pan heat oil at medium flame fry the lollipops gently in the oil. 

                          Turn it all sides and take it from the oil







                                when they comes brown in colour

                                 serve hot with tomato ketchup.

                               Sorry   for not being in touch with you all for a quiet  time.  This is because of my PC problem. Last week my son's friend came here and he installed a new software. From that moment on wards am facing lot of issues in connecting to the internet. Since i haven' t updated the blog for days I was worried and too much concerned about my  Blog

Yam Stir Fry / Senai Kizhangu Pirattal

                                                
Ingredients:


Yam(Senai kilangu) - 1cup(chopped)

Onion - 1

Tamarind extract - 2 tsp


Fennel seeds (sombu)- 1/2 tsp


Oil - 3 tbsp

Curry leaf - 1 string


Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp


Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp


Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp


salt - to taste



Method:



                                  Clean the yam by removing the skin and washing it in water.

                                                    Chop the yam into medium size cubes.


                                          

               Heat oil in a pan, add fennel seeds,curry leaves & then add onion and

                                                     fry till it  becomes transparent.

              Now add the chopped yam, turmeric powder,salt & stir it for few mins.


                           
                                       
              At low flame,add the tamarind extract and close it with lid.Stir it occasionally.

           After the yam gets cooked, add the red chilli powder and garam masala powder 


                                                   and fry it for few minutes.

                                          Senai kilangu pirattal is ready to serve.

                                          Serve it with sambar rice or curd rice.

Beetroot Halwa

 
 

Hi,

                                   Ingredients:

 

    Beetroot - 1 cup (shreded)

Milk - 1 cup

Sugar - 1 cup

Ghee - 1 tbs

Cardamom - 2 Nos

cashew nuts - 10 Nos

                                         Method:



First  Shred  the

Beetroot


  
Fry the cashews 

with ghee



                                                                            Powder the cardamom 

                                                      with sugar
                                                        
   At medium flame cook 

the shreded

beetroot  

with milk




                                                                             when the beetroot 

                                                     cooked well                                               


                                                              Add the powdered cardamom 
                                                         and sugar



when the sugar dissolve 

completely in the halwa

add ghee


Stir till the halwa comes 

into thick and sticky condition


Garnish with fried cashews  

serve hot or cold !!!

Ladies Finger Pakoda




 

Ingredients:



Ladies finger - 1 cup (chopped)

Onion - 1 (medium size , chopped)

Green chillies - 2 nos (chopped)

Gram flour - 1 cup

Rice flour - 1 tbs

Sombu - 1 tsp

Asafoetida - 1 pinch

Curry leaves - a handfull

Coriander leaves - a handfull

Salt to taste

Oil as you need



Method:


                                Wash and chop the ladies finger.
                Mix  all the ingredients with small quantity of   water.

                    In a pan heat one tablespoon of  oil and 

                              pour it into the pakoda batter.

                             Mix well. This step is important, 

                    because this made the pakodas more crispy. 


                           Heat the remaining oil at medium flame and 

                                  put the batter as like  pakodas

                              into the oil. After one side cook and 

                                            it comes to crispy 

                                 turn it to the other side to cook.

                            Keep the pakodas on the tissue paper 

                                         to absorb excss oil

                          
                                           Serve hot with 

                                    tomato sauce or ketch-up
